We voted

Yes on Monday we went and voted early. It makes it much easier than standing in long lines with 5 children, two of which are young and don't stand in line well.
I won't go into politics here or even say who I voted for. I will say that I really just voted against someone and not for someone. It was a hard decision but I prayed and felt this was what I needed to do. So now we just sit back and wait.
I am glad though that I don't have to worry about getting there on Nov. 4th in time.
So if your state has early voting go vote if not don't miss getting there on Nov. 4th. It is our duty as Americans to get out and vote!

Since several have asked...

Here is a pic of the back of my hair. Well I had two pics but I keep deleting one. Sorry.

Update on my niece

Thank you all who prayed. Khloe did great. I got a call from my brother last evening and he said she was back to her normal self. When he called right after surgery she was waking up and I could hear her crying. It was sad.
Please continue to pray this fixes her eyes.

I cut my hair today.

What do you think?

And this one is because Ju is so cute.

I have been amazed and blessed

I have been amazed and blessed by the lady on this web site www.lactationinnovation.com . As those of you that know me know I have been dealing with thrush for the past 15 months I have been nursing. Well I have actually been dealing with systemic yeast since I was pregnant with C, so 4 years. Well thankfully a friend recommended this web site to me and the results have been amazing.
The lady that owns the site was VERY helpful. I emailed her numerous times and she very graciously answered all of my questions with recommendations of what she thought would help. The stuff I ordered got here in two days, very quick. I started the supplements at lunch on Thursday and honestly saw results by that evening. I held off with my excitement to see if it was just me wanting results but things only got better. I am finally nursing pain free for the first time in 15 months. This is amazing.
I highly recommend this lady and her site to anyone dealing with any breastfeeding problem or yeast problem. She is wonderful and very knowledgeable.
I have been blessed. Thank you Lord for letting me finding this site.

J with his gifts.
And finally the cake. I did have a small piece. :D

PARTY DAY!!!

Today is my oldest's 17th birthday. I am cooking his dinner as I type this. I got him a cake from Unique Cake and Catering. They make the best cakes in the world. It is shaped like a guitar.
J is having a friend over for the night. This is big as he never has anyone over. This is a nice boy though, very polite. My mom and Papaw Bill are joining us for dinner.
J requested chicken and dumplings so that is what I am making.
I will post pictures of the party and the cake later.
It is amazing how fast they grow up.
I am so proud of my son. He is growing up to be quite a nice young man.

Birthday Eve

Today is the Eve of my oldest child's (J) 17th birthday. We are preparing. I have been to Wal Mart and am now worn out. They (the two oldest boys) have a soccer game at 4 today. J is making a cookie cake for snacks at the game. Ok hopefully he is making a cookie cake. He has never done this before so he is hoping it will turn out. I will take pix if it does.
I on the other hand I need a nap. Ju is sleeping and I am hoping to get C in bed soon. Then after the game we are supposed to go to a Wakening America Rally at a church. This is their second one. They are really trying to get other churches to wake up and see that this country is going downhill fast.
I couldn't get the link to work in the post so here it is www.fellowshipchapel.us you will have to copy and past

Guess who is 15 months today?

You guessed it. Sweet baby Ju Ju. He is such a delight to our lives. I can't imagine life without him.
Here are some pictures for you to enjoy.

Sleep

Do you ever think "if I could only get some more sleep"? I used to think that, and while I know that your body needs sleep it is just not that big of a focus anymore. When S my second born child was a baby he didn't sleep. I used to cry about missed sleep and focus on when I could get a nap. Fast forward to now, I am almost 45 and my youngest (15 months today) does not sleep. I don't worry or stress anymore. See S is now 14 and sleeps a lot. I realize that this time of being a baby is so short they grow so fast.
Where is all this nostalgia coming from. I guess it stems from seeing my olders get older. We have passed some growing up milestone this week and they just continue to come. My long awaited for two younger babies are growing right before my eyes. I am so blessed by God to have them. They are true miracles from God.

Just so you don't worry baby Ju did sleep pretty well last night. LOL

Time

Do you ever think about time? I mean you think of what time it is or how long before something happens, but have you really thought about time. It is something you can't see. You can see the effects of it but you can't see it. Even though time is something you can't see it is something that drives us everyday. We do what we do everyday because of time. I treat my younger children the way I do because I have older children that make me realize how fast time goes. The saying is time flies when you are having fun. You know, you don't have to be having fun for time to fly. Just look back over your life and you will see.
Now what is the point of this rambly post? I am not really sure. Although I look at my first baby who will be 17 on Friday and my youngest who will be 15 months tomorrow and think wow where did the time go?

Do you understand me?

This seems to be the new phrase that my 3yo likes. I heard him tell one of his siblings while I was in the bathroom. "Do you understand me" "I told you too....(I couldn't hear what he said here) "Now say yes sir" LOL
Ok I was almost rolling. Of course when I come out I have to correct and keep a straight face. But when behind closed doors I can laugh away. LOL
I just love having toddlers. They sure make life enjoyable.
Here are some pictures of said child enjoy.

I failed

Well I failed. Of course I knew I would when I said it but it was a fun goal to shoot for. LOL I guess you are wondering what I failed at. Well here is the story.
The other day my son was freezing. I made the statement that I wanted to make it to December 1st before bringing in the heaters. What a joke. I knew I would need them before then. So today is the day. I didn't bring in the big 220 heaters but I did bring in a couple small ceramic heaters. It has been kind of cold here the past 3 days. But this morning was probably the coldest with frost on our windshield before church. Outside right now it is nice and not cold at all, in fact kind of warm but inside my house is cold. So we now have heat. 1 1/2 months before my goal. Oh well it was a goal worth setting but it was not worth freezing to attain. LOL

Oh and on a side note I missed my air conditioner goal by 1 day. I wanted to not turn them on until June 1st and had to turn them on on May 31st. I did much better on this one.

My Son the Eagle

My son is now and Eagle Scout. He met all the requirements and passed his board of review. I am VERY proud of him. He is a wonderful young man.
He is also a writer and wrote this essay about becoming and Eagle Scout. Enjoy!

Eagle’s Wings
By: J

Is the rank of Eagle Scout worth attaining? To receive this rank a Boy Scout must learn and go through many things. He must camp out, cook and swim. He will learn how to how to use a knife, ax, and saw safely. He will learn how to start fires, read maps, and use a compass. He will learn how to tie knots, administer first aid, and be a leader.
All these things are just some of what a scout learns as he passes through the ranks of Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, and Life. To earn Star, Life and Eagle, a scout must earn twelve required merit badges, as well as nine elective merit badges. The merit badges differ in subject from theater and cinematography, to communications and family life.
Once a scout has obtained these twenty-one merit badges, as well as the rank of Life Scout, he must plan and carry out a service project. The scout will plan a project that benefits the community, such as installing a library at a school, or restoring a community basketball court, and after the scout obtains approval for his project, he collects donations for the items needed to complete it. He then plans workdays and carries out his project. Once completed, he must pass his Eagle board of review. If the scout if deemed worthy of the rank, he has the honor of becoming an Eagle Scout.
It is a noble quest, filled with hardships and dangers, fun and excitement, truth and wisdom. Not only does the scout learn valuable life skills, he also makes many friends who become his lifelong companions. He garners wisdom by striving to live by the Scout Oath and Law, which exemplify the character of Christ. The scout turns from a rowdy, rambunctious, raucous little kid, into an experienced, talented, capable young man who is ready and willing to lead. He has started on the quest and gone from a Page to Knight in the process.
Many believe that becoming an Eagle Scout that is not worth the effort. The scout will reach the rank of Life and stop there, finding no special significance in reaching for the final rank. To him it is just one more step up–nothing special. He started this journey like a vocalist who sings a song without comprehending the words. Like a dancer without passion, he joined a scout troop and went through the motions of scouting. However, unlike the few that attain the rank of Eagle Scout, he failed to realize that the rank is not just an achievement it is an honor.
Only four percent of scouts that set out on the quest to attain the rank of Eagle Scout stick it out and reach their destination. Many pluck up the courage to start, some battle through towards the end, but few emerge triumphant, as an Eagle Scout.
I have traveled the well-trodden path; I have fought the battle; I have crossed the expanse that separates the Eagles from the eaglets. I am an Eagle Scout. It is an honor worth fighting for.
