Christmas

I love Christmas. I love buying gifts for people. I love to get that special gift that they didn't expect or sometimes even know they wanted. LOL

We are reading an advent story for Christmas, Jotham's Journey. (You can buy it at CBD or Library and Educational Services) He has written three of them. He also has (though they are out of print right now) Bartholemew's Passage and Tabitha's Travels. These are great stories that tell the Christmas story with a bit of fiction about a child's adventure. Then there is a small devotional after to point you to Jesus and the meaning of the season. We love it here. The only sad thing this year is J is working through most of them and missing the story. Although he has heard it several times. We read one of them every year and just rotate. I forget how the stories go but the kids remember them quite well every year.

We are going to see the Christmas lights at the race track on Thursday. There are millions of lights and this is one of our Christmas traditions. We love to look at lights.

I am praying J does not have to work Christmas Eve as our tradition is to go to my mom's on that evening. Maybe we could change it to lunch instead of dinner if he has to work. He would be sad if he had to work.
His job is going well. He likes it pretty good. I would have LOVED to make that much money at his age. I guess cost of living is more now but really I mean what does he have to pay, well except what he is going to pay us.

If I don't get back here before Christmas I want to wish everyone that reads my blog a Merry Christmas. May the Lord bless you this coming year.
